FRUIT MARKET PRICES.
The Director of the Horticulture Division has received a report from his officers "-on the condition of fruit and vegetables in Wellington : . shops and auction rooms and the market conditions for the month of November. Apples and pears: With smaller supplies offering prices hardened considerably. Cherries and tomatoes arrived in good condition and met a very keen market. Cherry and bronze plums arrived in a firm but immature condition. Strawberries were in small supply with prices firm. Supplies of New Zealand lemons have been variable during the month. There was a good supply of all seasonable vegetables. Prices for apples ranged from 8s to 16s 6d for Tasmas, 7s to 15s for Doughertys. Pears, Winter Coles, from 8s 6d to 235; others, 8s to 15s. Cherries, 15s to 19s 9d a quarter-case. Strawberries, Is 4d to 3s a punnet. Tomatoes, hothouse, Is 2d to Is 7d per lb; coloured, lOd to Is sd. Gooseberries, 4d to lOd per lb. Green peas, 2£d to 5d per lb. Old potatoes, 20s to 25s per cwt: new, 2^d to 4d per lb.
