Feilding second-day acceptances at 8.30 o'clock this evening. Manawatu nominations are due next Monday evening. The first acceptance for the Auckland Cup is not due till December 15. The single acceptance for the Railway will be taken at the same time.
The Auckland Cup this year is worth £2050 to the winner, including a £50 trophy. The Wellington Cup will be worth £2300 to the winner, including a £200 trophy. According to a Southland exchange, Mr. R. Brown is already planning ahead for the next steeplechase season with Gold Wren, Pandine, and King Willow.
The Wanganui trainer L. G. Butler has secured a lease of the two-year-old Phaleron Bay—Golden Hair filly.
According to a southern message, the Oamaru trainer J. Ross is at present suffering from a severe attack of pneumonia and his condition has been causing his friends anxiety. Gold Wings, maiden winner at Ellerslie last Monday, is a three-year-old daughter of Vaals and Agrion's fullsister White Wings, who was a good galloper herself. :
