A KHANDALLAH CONCERT
A very enjoyable concert took place recently at the Khandallah Town Hull, the result of which enables a- substantial Christmas gift to be sent to Gloria Rawlinson, New Zealand child poetess.
The concert, which was organised by Miss Clarice Lee Browne, was given by the Sunbeam Songsters assisted by the pupils of Miss Joy Asquith. Partsongs, verse-speaking, humorous recitations, and piano solos were among th« itoms given by the songsters, those talcing part being Joan Steele, Barbara Steele, Eily Nolan, Betty Browne, Lonia Hills, Barbara Lynch. Bernadine Leamy, Joy Carr, Pam . Stockdale, Janet Bull, Winnie Lenaham, Margaret Mclver, Barbara Poole, Marie Farrelley, Dell Hills, Janice Potts. A recitation and song were given by Peter Bradshaw, aged three, and were received with enthusiasm. A toe dance was presented by Miss Asquith, and her pupils taking part in three other numbers were E. Heron, A. Henderson, M. Burton, E. Chapman, B. Casey, .}. Maloney, D. Plimmer, and B. Hobsin.
At the conclusion of the evening the songsters presented Miss Browne with Et beautiful crystal vase and floral tributes, and Mrs. Plimmer presented bouquets to Miss Asquith and each of Jaer pupils.
