THE FINNISH ISSUE
UNILATERAL ACTION
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) j (Received October 13, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, October 12. It is stated authoritatively that the United States is expressing to the Soviet "its earnest hope that nothing will occur which is calculated to affect injuriously peaceful relations between the Soviet and Finland." The action, of the United States is unilateral and entirely independent and without similar representations by other Powers. The American Ambassador, Mr. Steinhardt, visited the Kremlin today and saw M. Molotov, the Soviet Foreign Minister. -
