There is at present on loan to the Dominion Museum an outstanding collection of water-colour paintings of native birds by Miss Lilly Attey Daff, of the Otago Museum. The collection was obtained by the Forest and Bird Protection Society. The fifty pictures depict forest and ocean and seashore native birds In characteristic poses against, their natural backgrounds. Detailed and accurate, they are of scientific interest as well as artistic merit. The colouring in particular appeals.
