GOVERNMENT FIRM
FIXATION OF PRICES
A BRISK INTERLUDE
A brisk exchange of argument between Mr. W. J. Poison (National, Sfratford) and the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) provided one of the liveliest interludes of the session during the opening stages of a prolonged debate on the Appropriation Bill in the House of Representatives yesterday.
The discussion hinged on the fixation of prices, with the Opposition concerned particularly with the position as it affected the farmers. Members of the Government emphasised more than once that the Government's policy was to prevent any form of profiteering.
