FIFTEEN MONTHS' GAOL
Sentences • totalling fifteen months' imprisonment with hard labour were imposed upon Stanley Arnold Nicholson, a labourer and dealer, aged 25, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, on five charges of false pretences, involving amounts totalling £15. De-tective-Sergeant P. Doyle said that the accused made a specialty of defrauding stock firms and agents. . He had committed similar offences before, and at present was on licence.
The accused said he committed the offences because he could not get work and had no money.
