PRICE OF COLD

The price of gold advanced to 168s per oz fine on September 5 and has been held at that point. This price was the highest reached at any time in the London market. The price on August 24 was 148s sd; August 25, 150s 6d: August 26, 1555; August 25, 150s 6d; August 26, 1555; August 28, 161s; August" 29, 1575; August 30, 158&6 d; and August3l, 1595. During the Tfrisis in September, 1938, the price reached 147s (September 28), but it went to 150s 5d on January 9,1939.
