INCREASED PROFITS
In view of the outbreak or war, there is a possibility that the plans of the Dunlop-Perdriau Rubber Co.. Ltd., for the establishment of a £1,500,000 new model garden city and industrial centre in Victoria may be deferred for the time being. It is understood that an announcement regarding the matter will be made at the annual meeting of the company, to be held next Friday.. The company's balance-sheet shows that net profit was £426,628. With £56,574 brought in, £482,842 was available. Interim 5 per cent, preference dividend took £46,500, and interim ordinary of 3§ per cent., £131,798. Final 5 per cent, preference absorbed a further £46.500. and final 3£ per cent, ordinary (making 7 per cent, unchanged for the year), an additional -£131.798. It is proposed to transfer £50,000 to general reserve; £20 000 to reserve for contingencies, and £56,246 is to be.carried forward.
