GRICKET GOES ON
BUT WITH AN UNDER-
STANDING
(By Telegraph—Press Association;)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
In support of the views expressed by the New Zealand Government the New Zealand Cricket Council appeals to all associations, clubs, and cricketers to maintain their competitions as far as possible during the coming season. In doing so they would be fulfilling a national duty and rendering useful service to the community generally.
It was understood that in so doing players would not allow cricket to interfere with military obligations.
