The thrills of the match came in the final 10 minutes, when Otago tried hard to equalise, Taranalu being penned in their own quarter and having several iia#ow escapes. Taranaki opened the scoring ■ when Toro ran up fast to . collect. a tolling ball and. score between the posts, Johns 'converting. . Tara'nakl's score increased as the result of a further. try by C. Sullivan from a movement instituted by Toro. Otago's only points came, from a, field goal by Trevathan shortly before half-time. There was no acore in.the second spell. • i
