CLIPPER ARRIVES

PACIFIC FLIGHT

NOUMEA-AUCKLAND

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. The California Clipper landed on Auckland Harbour at 2.20 p.m.

The Clipper left Noumea on the last stage of the Pacific flight at 7.5 a.m. (New Zealand time), when favourable weather for the trip was forecast. At 10.5 a.m. she was reported having passed over Norfolk Island, to which she deviated for survey purposes. Forty minutes later she had reached the halfway mark on the flight from Noumea to Auckland.

The Clipper will probably leave Auckland on Saturday morning for San Francisco, making overnight stops at the various bases. She will probably return to Auckland within a fortnight from Saturday, since the flight completed today marks the start of the fortnightly schedule.

The Clipper made landfall at North Cape shortly before 1.30. Large crowds wei-e at the base at Mechanics' Bay to see her arrive and the roadways Were lined with cars. A biting westerly wind made conditions unpleasant.
