CHAMPIONSHIPS CONTINUED

Play in the Wellington table tennis championships has spread over four nights and is now expected to conclude to-morrow evening, when the finals of all sections will be decided. In the Boys' Institute last night second grade and junior girls' events were played out t* the semi-finals, although the 96 entries in the second grade men's singles made for a rather crowded programme. Notwithstanding this, the evening's matches were over at quite an early hdur.

In the second grade women's doubles, Misses R. Asher and G. Lister, titleholders, meet Misses N. Phillips and M. Tracey, and the singles lie between Misses Asher and P. Schmidt.

In the junior girls' singles, finalists are Miss M. Tracey, who fceat Miss B. Eames, and the title-holder, Miss J. Strange, who qualified with a win over Miss B. F. Rea. N. R. Searle and F. Mildenhall will play for the second grade men's singles title. The last results on Tuesday were the men's open doubles, and the final here lies between H. D. Kennedy and L. Wilson, who beat H. Pyle and G. Bell, and last year's victors, W. T. McFarllane and M. Gosling, winners over K. Bolland and C. A. P. Johnstone.
