TERRIFIC BLAST

SHAMBLES IN COVENTRY

CENTRE OF CITY

I.R.A. DUMP BLAMED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received August 26, 10.10 a.m.)

LONDON, August, 25.

A terrific explosion reduced the centre of Coventry to a shambles. The very meagre details include a report that three men and one woman were arrested immediately after the explosion. It is believed that five people were killed and hundreds injured. Thousands of pounds' worth of damage was done to shop fronts and windows in the chief thoroughfare, Broadgate, which is ankle deep in shattered glass. Buses and trams were damaged.

It is believed an I.R.A. dump blew up.
