Kane, by Rameses the Second— Ka-Lu-A, syrs 3 Twelve starters. Won by two lengths, a head between second and third. Winner bred by Major D. Dixon and trained by M. Peacock at Middleham,, Yorkshire. Owenstown's only previous start up till a month ago this season was in finishing second to Finis in the Yorkshire Cup, 2 miles, in May. He also failed to score last season, but as a three-year-old he won the Ulster Derby and Irish St. Leger. He derives his colour from his dam, who was a grey daughter of The Tetrarch mare Temoignage, bred by Lord Lascelles. — "Ariki Toa."
