NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

A largo number of entries have been received tor the North Island table tennis championships, to bo conducted by tho Wellington Association. There have been 169 entries received, amongst whom are the South Island champion, P. Fa ton (Auckland), E. Hughes (Hutt Valley singles title holder), K. Boniface (Wellington), M. Gosling (Wellington), New Zealand representatives, C. Burke (Auckland), runner-up last year, ami others from the South Island, Wanganui, Manawatti, and Tarauaki. The tournament will be held at the Boye' Institute, Tasman Street, tomorrow and on Wednesday, commencing at 7.15 p.m. oil each night. Players in the first round of the singles events are reQiiested to be in attendance on time. Excellent conditions are provided, and ample accommodaion has been arranged for spectators.
