The Nelson hockey representatives staved off a second challenge for the Nordou Cup, defeating Southland by 5 goals to 1. At half-time the score was 1-all. Towards the end Xelson asserted their superiority, scoring four more goals. The game was fast, and the visitors, who met with a number of injuries, were probably affected by the long journey. The scorers for Nelson were Best (2), Corby, Allport, an-! Weston. For Southland Mullen scored.
