AULD CUP SEMI-FINALS
WATERSIDE'S BID FOR TRIPLE HONOURS
Waterside's defeat of Petone, the former championship leaders, by 4 goals to 2 op Saturday afternoon not only brought them level with Petone at the head of the championship table, but took them also into the final of the Auld Memorial Cup competition, and as they are the North [sland winners of the Chatham Cup competition, they stand a chance of winning all three events this year.
Waterside and Petone have each two more games to play in the championship, Petone against Seatoun and Diamond, and Waterside against Marist and Technical Old Boys. The other Auld Cup semi-final on Saturday was, won by Seatoun. who defeated Swifts by the only goal of the match
Hospital easily beat a team of first B division representatives in a friendly game at Porirua, the score being 5 goals to 2, and the only first B division game was between Institute Old Boys and Miramar Rangers in the first round of the Victory Cup competition, Institute winning by 4 goals to 1
Ground and overhead conditions were excellent
