"33" CLUB DANCE
FAREWELL TO PRESIDENT
The Wellington 33 Club held its second dance of the season at the Majestic Cabaret on Saturday night, and it was a special occasion as it was also in the nature of a farewell to the president, Mr. Alec Regan, manager of the Majestic Theatre, who will be leaving shortly to take a position in Australia.
There were over 300 guests present and Mr. and Mrs. Regan received them in the foyer. A handsome gown of green lame and a short fur coat were worn by Mrs. Regan.
The cabaret presented a very gay sight. Hundreds of gaily-coloured pennants were suspended from the ceiling, many of them bearing the figure "33" in scintillating silver; balloons were tethered to the chairs, and the frocks worn were exceptionally striking.
Large parties were entertained by several club members. Those in the president's party were Mrs. Alex Aitken, Mr. and Mrs. W. Burton, Mr. and Mrs. J. Shriner, Mr. and Mrs. L. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Gyles, Mr. and Mrs. W. Duncan, Mr. Arthur Burton, Miss R. Hewitt, and Mr. J. Akouri. The dance committee included Messrs. H. Marlow (secretary), L. A. Quinn, R. Usmar, S.
