The monthly meeting of the National Executive of the New Zealand Labour Party, held on Saturday morning, passed the following resolution:—
"The members of the National Executive desire to place on record their sincere sympathy with our Leader, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in the serious operation that he has recently undergone, and their very great pleasure in hearing of the splendid recovery he is making."
"We appreciate the high sense of duty which actuated him to carry on his work until the last moment, and sincerely trust that he will soon be restored to complete health and be enabled to resume his responsible duties as Prime Minister and to continue the task of the carrying out of the humanitarian legislation to which the Government and the party is pledged."
