JENKINS ON SALT FLATS

BONNEVILLE (Utah), August 11
A. B. Jenkins, in his 750 horse-power "Mormon Meteor III," set a new 1000----mile speed record of 170.76 miles an hour, improving his own mark of 168.11 miles an hour.
Jenkins was severely burnt on July 26 when his car caught fire during a projected 24-hour endurance run on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
