, . LONDON, August 7: The Danzig correspondent of tha British United Press states that tha,. Senate has sent a Note to M. Cho-' dacki, the Polish Commissioner, r©» jecting Poland's Note of August 6 regarding Customs officials. The. Polish Note is describe^ as provocative and based on false rumours. The Senate refuses to acknowledge Polish officials unless they are specially trained for Customs work, (Received August 8, 11 a.m.) DANZIQ, August 7. The Senate's reply expresses will* iingness to discuss matters, and there*, ffore is not to be regarded as a re« ijection of the Polish protest, but it contends that ths display of arms by the Polish.Customs/officials contravenes the Treaty of Versailles^ and1 protests against threatened Polish counter-measures. The Nazi leaders, Herren Foerster and Zaske, flew to Germany to con«" suit Herr Hitler. . The League Commissioner, Professor Buckhardt, is endeavouring to allay Polish dissatisfaction with the reply. The Senate, apparently instigated by Germany, promised M. Chodacki that it would investigate the Customs dispute in reference to herrings and margarine, and this has helped to ease the tension. . A Customs inspector, Jari Lipinski, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment for insulting Herr Hitler
