"COUNTRY BLED WHITE"
OPPOSITION VIEWPOINT
There was no lack of material for the six speakers who took part in the Financial Debate in the House of Representatives yesterday, and although much of the speeches covered ground already broken by the party leaders, many points for and against the Government's policy remained for elaboration and were thoroughly canvassed. For once the odds in debate were even, there being three speakers from each side of the House. The Opposition's view wag presented by Mr. J. Hargest (National, Awarua), who declared thaP* the country was being bled white by taxation and that no other Government would attempt to pursue the course that the Labour Government was following. ****
