PALMERSTON N., This Day,
Tidewaiter and Aurora's Star, who leave today to complete Awapuni's contingent at Riccarton, were given their final gallops yesterday morning. The course proper, next to the rails, was available, but the going was dead and the surface rather rough after the Hunt Meeting last Saturday. f
Tidewaiter (W. Jenkins) was galloped' a mile. He maintained an even pace throughout and was not under pressure at the finish, completing his task smoothly in lmin 51 2-ssec.
Aurora's Star (W. J. Broughton) worked well over seven furlongs, and she galloped as though the race of last; Saturday had improved her. Broughton will ride her at Riccarton.
