THE PRIME MINISTER
People of all classes and all political opinions will join with the Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and the Leader of tlie Opposition in expressing sympathy with Mr. Savage in his illness. The wide humanity of the Prime Minister's outlook is admitted by those who feel impelled to criticise the political wisdom of the Government's actions as well as by political supporters. Also the kindly urbanity of Mr. Savage has done much to modify the rancour of party politics. In the pursuit of what he sincerely believes to be the welfare of the community and in his leadership of the Labour Party the Prime Minister has never spared himself. His action in going to Parliament to present the Budget when thought of personal health would have led him to delegate that duty is typical of the spirit he has shown in his high office. The same courageous spirit, it is hoped, will promote an early and complete recovery of his health.
