MOUNT LYELL REPORT.
The Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Limited, progress report for the fortnight ended July 19 is:—Mines: North Lyell—Tons extracted, 2451. Crown Lyell: Tons extracted, 1652. West Lyell: Tons extracted, 35,530. New Ore Transfer Pass: Construction work in progress. Lyell Comstock: Tons extracted, 3463. Reduction works: Furnace in blast full period; 10,098 tons refinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 336 hours and treated 42,560 tons ore, producing 2154 tons concentrates. Copper refinery: Tank house in operation throughout fortnight, 557 tons cathode copper produced for period. Total for. current year, 10,277 tons.
