CZECHS WARNED

IF WAR COMES

RUTHLESS SUPPRESSION OF UNREST

GERMAN ACTIVITY

(By Tck'iji-apli—Press Association —Copyright.)

London; juiy 23.

The President of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Dr. Emil Hacha, issued a statement in Prague saying that in the event of certain developments in German foreign policy, the Czechs would loyally support Germany. M. Havelka, the acting-Prime Minister, broadcast a grave warning to the Czechs to put out of their minds any dreams that war would improve their situation.

The Prague correspondent of the "Sunday Times" says that the state-

ments result from a visit by the German police chief, Herr Himmler, who declared that, in the event of war, unrest in Bohemia and Moravia would be ruthlessly suppressed. Military preparations are visible in many parts of the protectorate. Highways are being constructed at a great pace from Zilna to the SlovakPolish frontier. Training in air raid precautions is being extended and aerodromes enlarged.
