Mr. W. H. Stevens, president of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association, said that the Prime Minister's statement appeared to be of very serious import to manufacturers: in the Dominion,, but that until he had had an .opportunity to examine it carefully and understand its full portent, he was not ■ prepared to make detailed comment.
