FAULTS DEVELOP
TELEGRAPH LINES
EFFECT OF HEAVY SNOW
Telegraphic communication between Nelson and Motueka was lost last night owing to heavy falls of snow, states the P. and T. Department. Faults developed in the vicinity of Richmond and Upper Moutere, and contact with Motueka was lost at 7.25 p.m. A line gang left Nelson at approximately 8 p.m. and attended to several faults, but further trouble developed beyond Richmond. Work was hampered by continued heavy snowfalls, and at a late hour the gang suspended operations. These were resumed early this morning, communication being restored at 8.45 o'clock.
