LONDON, July 17.
A violent explosion wrecked tho pump house at William Beard and Company's steelworks, near Glasgow, and set fire to a shop adjoining. Workers on night shift were showered with lumps of red-hot ore and other debris. Some took shelter in an air-raid refuge.
Windows in every building in the neighbourhood were shattered, and there were many miraculous escapes. A bomb, which exploded at Wolverhampton railway station, slightly damaged the parcel office and blew out windows. A porter was injured.
