There is an improvement in the A grade standard of suooting in this round, the team average being 469.40 and the individual average 67.06. These flgures are the highest this season. Harbour Board are still leading without a loss, although they had a close match with Municipal, winning by only, oue poiut. With three matches to go they can afford to lose one and still win tho championship as they have a four-point lead on the next team. Six possibles were registered in this round. If these teams win their final match, there should be an interesting shoot-off, as both are shooting exceptionally well. A new record was made for the C grade, when Brooklyn 1 put on the very good score of 476, which beats the previous record by 7 points. The Brooklyn Club this year have made new records for all the grades. The possible scorer in the C grade was C. Pragnell, Brooklyn. There were Aye scores of 69 and four of 68. Bullen 46. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho fourth annual ladies' championship meeting will be held at the association range, Winter Show Buildings, on Saturday, July 29. It is expected that there will be a large number of competitors, and all entries should reach the secretary, Mr. J. Ritchie, 52 Creswick Terrace, Northland, as soon as possible. There will be matches for the A, B, and C grades, and also a match for first-year shots. The programme and prize list will be the same as last year. - Tho shooting will com- | menco at 1.30 p.m., but the range will be open | from' 12 noon for practice. , DEWAR SHIELD. Members are petting in some good practice for selection in the Dewar Shield match, which takes place at Miramar on July 30. The match consists of two shoots at 50 yards, ten shots each, and two at 100 yards, also ten shots each. The sura of £5 has been donated for prizes in the match, which will bo by sealed handicaps. Christchurch Ladies resulted in a win for the Christchurch ladies, who scored 671 out of a possible of 700, as compared with the Wellington ladies' 650. The shooting of the Christchurch ladies was particularly meritorious, as they used the metric target for the first time. Tho following were the individual scores by the Wellington ladies:—Jtiss B.
