HONOLULU, July 14.
In a water sports carnival today the men's 400 metres freestyle open race resulted: Kioyshi Nakama (Maui), 1; Bob Pirie (Canada), 2; R. Biddulph (Australia), 3. Time, 4min 55 3-10 sec. I. was a blanket finish.
The 200 metres freestyle open race resulted: Pirie 1, Nakama 2; Biddulph 3. Time, 2min 12.8 sec (a new Hawaiian and American record). It was a touch-and-go finish. Biddulph finished one metre behind.
