ACCURACY DOUBTED
COMMENT BY MR. SAVAGE
"I know nothing of any indefinita postponement of the negotiations," Said the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) today, in reference to the above cable message. "I had a cablegram from Mr. Nash on Saturday morning saying that he would be leaving London as soon as the negotiations were finalised, but he said that there were one or two things still remaining to be finalised. The general impression he gave me in that cable message was to the effect that most of the work had already been agreed to and signed up and there were only one or two things outstanding which were associated with the renewal of the loan falling due at the end of the year." -
The cable from London mentioned the improvement in London Stocks, but. its contents published abroad would have the effect of depressing them again, Mr. Savage added. Cables of that description were in the interests of gamblers who, after a depressing influence, would sell out on the rise when the truth was ascertained.
