ADJUSTING OF TRADE
GERMANY & POLAND
MOVES REGARDED AS GOOD
OMEN
LONDON, July 16.
Observers in Warsaw say that Germany has unexpectedly agreed to begin economic negotiations with Poland in August with the primary object of adjusting the ti-ade balance between Poland and Germany and placing trade relations generally on a more satisfac-
Tory basis,
It is hoped tha' the negotiations will also beneficially affect the political relations.
After keeping in the Gex-man banks £5,000,000 which was owed to Poland tor exports of surplus foods, Germany has now paid up the debt almost fully. The German debt for transport across the Polish Corridor is also being paid satisfactorily.
Diplomatic writers regard the moves as a good omen, despite the continued political tension.
