CONTROVERSY AS TO VENUE

NEW YORK,,JuIy 15. The discussion on the Davis Cup - inter-zone final is developing a variety of interesting features. American tennis officials point out that, upon an agreement with tho European Davis Cup committee in February, the American authorities put the national doubles feature a week ahead and awarded the doubles and inter-zone final to Boston. The Longwood Cricket Club, incidentally, underwent considerable expense in, preparing for the inter-zone final, and would be reluctant to relinquish it

Hopman's. objections, could agree to participate in the national doubles along with the Australians It would then, perhaps, be possible, to hold the inter-zone final in Montreal.

The present schedule for the doubles is tlie week beginning August 13. and the inter-zone final will be played, on August 24, 25. and 26.
