HUTT BEAT WESLEY

As Wesley were without the services of their goalkeeper for most of the first spell in the IWesley-Hutt game at the Hutt Recreation Ground, and the Hutt forwards received a good number of opportunities, the final score of.B-1 should have been larger in favour of the local team. Good play by the Wesley full-backs, Bade and Latham, was responsible repeatedly for spoiling promising attacks by tho opposing forwards, and their clearances were safe. Hutt, although in Wesley territory most of the time, did not make full use of their chances, and their work in the circle was weak. In the second half the Wesley forwards showed better combination, and occasionally gave the Hutt defence some trouble, but they were unable to get the upper hand. Goals were scored for Hutt by Bullen (2) and Chapman. Rowse netted for Wesley. -„„„,, The umpires were Messrs. H. F. Bollard and G. Whitham.
