ST. GEORGE V. MIRAMAR
Brilliant goal-kicking by Spencer was a feature of the match between St. George and Miramar. The former won by 22 points to 19 after being behind in the first spell.
Both sets of backs used fast, open tactics. St. George were a heavier team, and wore down Miramar's defence in the socond half. St. George's tries were scored by Edie, Bouzaid, Gosney, and O'Connor. The conversions were by O'Conner and Spencer (3). The latter also kicked a penalty goal. Miramar's tries were scored by Carruthers, J. Minnoch (2), Gollop, and Halford. Askew, . converted two. St. George's best forwards' were Mustchin, Munas, and Molslcy, and in the backs the best were Bouzaid and Edie. Miramar's pick were: Forwards, Carruthers, Cork, Elworthy; and backs, Stanaway and Askew.
The referee was Mr, AY. Simpson.
