Emphasising that the proposed inquiry into the profits and general activities of Australian Consolidated Industries, Limited, would not be part of any deliberate policy of attacking Australian industries, or their legitimate protection, the Australian Minister of Customs, Mr. N. J. Lawson. said he would discuss with the chairman of the Tariff Board. Mr. H. McConachy, in Melbourne, the date for the opening of the inquiry, which would be public.
