DUNEDIN, This Day.
Attended by a lar^e number cf mourners the funeral of Lady Allen took place on Saturday, the service being conducted in All Saints' Church by the Venex-able Archdeacon Whitehead. The mourner, included the Mayor, Mr. A. H. Allen. Bishop Fitch ett, Mr. W. J. Morrell (Chancellor of the University of Otago), Dr. A. R. Andrew (chairman of the Professorial Board), Mr H. Chapman (Registrar of the University;, Mr. E. Webster (representing the Early Settlers' Association), Colonel E. R. Smith (representing former voluntary military associations of Sir James Allen), vestrymen, and several parishionex's of All Saints' Church, and representatives of many societies with which Sir James had been prominently associated . over a long period. The divinity students r>f Selwyn College acted as pall-bearers,
