Edwara Sandford, a taxi-driver, aged 41, appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today on a charge of assaulting a woman in that he had struck her on the face. In convicting and imposing a penalty of £5 on Sandford the Magistrate remarked that there was far too much assaulting at the present time.
