COMMODITY COUNCILS
SUPPORTED BY FARMERS
The immediate formation of commodity councils, as outlined at the Empire Primary Producers' Conference, held in Sydney last year, was advocated by the New Zealand Farmers' Union conference yesterday afternoon. It was stipulated, however, that the proposal should not be ratified till the particular industries had approved of the idea.
"Unless we have something of this nature linking up all the primary producers of the Empire we will not be able to manage our own industries, but will find that somebody else will manage them for us," said Mr. D. I. Llewellin (Nelson).
