COMMENTS IN HOUSE
HIGH LIGHT OF DEBATE
Defence was again the high light of the Address-in-Reply' debate in the House of Representatives yesterday, when a number of back-benchers, including one new member, expressed their opinions. -As had been the case previously, all members were agreed that an efficient defence system was absolutely essential, the only bone of contention being how it should be obtained. -A iiew note was struck at the end of the day, when the member for* Stratford (Mr. Poison), while criticising the financial policy of the Government, was heard from the Opposition benches praising the work of several Ministers. He was facetiously invited to "cross the floor of the House," but at least some Government members had reason to appreciate his remarks.
