HIGH-PRICED POTATOES AND ONIONS.

CHRISTCHURCH, July 14
The demand from the North Island for potatoes is strong, and prices have firmed further since the beginning of the week. Today's quotations to farmers were £13 to £14 a ton, according to delivery and station. Locally-grown onions are not yet entirely absorbed, and high prices are still being paid. Yesterday's quotation to growers was £16 a ton.
