RELIGIOUS SERVICES. QHRISTADE L P H I A N S. 1.0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET (Opp. Paramount, Courtenay Place). THE TENTH LECTURE Of the Series under the Title of "TURNED UNTO FABLES" Will be delivered (God willing) in the above Hall on SUNDAY at 7 p.m., when further evidence will be produced from the Scriptures to show that the erroneous doctrines of the Churches of Christendom literally fulfil the following prediction of the Apostle Paul: "THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE. .. . THEY SHALL TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH AND SHALL BE TURNED UNTO FABLES." (2 Tim. 4:3-4, see also 2 Pet. 2:1-2, Luke 18:8, Isa. 60:2, Isa. 25:7, Jer. 16:19.) The Subject will be:— "THAT SALVATION CAN BE RECEIVED WITHOUT BELIEVING THE GOSPEL AND BEING BAPTISED—A FABLE." In the course of this Lecture it will be shown from the Scriptures: (1) THAT Jesus Christ said: "HE THAT BELIEVETH THE GOSPEL AND IS BAPTISED SHALL BE SAVED." (Ma^k 16:15-16.) Therefore, those who truly "believe in the Lord Jesus Christ" must believe this. (See also Roms. 1:16, 1 Cor. 15:1-2, Gals. 1:8-9.) (2) THAT "the Gospel" which must be believed before salvation can be received is defined in the New Testament Scriptures as "THE THINGS CONCERNING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST." (Acts 8:12, Acts 28:30-31, Mark 10:15, Matt. 9:35, Luke 8:1.) (3) THAT these "things" concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ are revealed in the Holy Scriptures, consequently the Apostle Paul declared that "THE HOLY SCRIPTURES ARE ABLE TO MAKE WISE UNTO SALVATION." (2 Tim. 3:15.) Therefore, Christ said, "SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES." (John 5:39, see also Acts 20:32, Isa. 66:2, Isa. 8:20. Acts 17:10-12.) (4) THAT the baptism which must follow a belief of the Gospel and which is essential to salvation is a bodily immersion in water. (Acts 8:12, John 3:5, Matt. 3:16, Acts 8:38-39, Roms. 6:4, Gals. 3:27-29.) Questions Invited. No Collection. For a thorough and mind-satisfying exposition of "the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ" read the book "Christendom Astray." A copy will be sent free on application to "Bible Truth," c/o above hall. piTT TEMPI* I J/"> m awl Lome street* x! 2 M " (off Cambria* V V »yV Terrace.
