GREAT ENDURANCE
TWO SISTERS INJURED
THROWN FROM HORSES
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, July 13
I A painful ordeal was undergone by two daughters of Mr and Mrs. L. T. Mora, Noreen, aged 14, and Vivien, aged 11, when the horses on which they were riding from Whangamomona to their home, about three miles away, bolted this afternoon and threw them. Vivien, both of whose arms are believed to be broken, and who was temporarily stunned, had to be helped for a mile and a half to her home by her sister, who herself had her right wrist broken. To add to their difficulty it was found by their father that his car was out of petrol, and supplies had to be sent for.
After being attended by the district nurse in Whangamomona the injured girls began a journey of 40 miles to Stratford Hospital, which they reached at about 11 p.m. Their condition was reported to be as satisfactory as possible in the circumstances.
