MOTOR INDUSTRY IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, July 13
The Commonwealth Statistician revealed today that there are 890,000 registered motor vehicles in Australia. Assembly and body-building and repairs give employment to more than 36,000 persons, which total is increased to 76.000 by allied industries. In addition, men employed as drivers oi1 trucks and buses number about 75,000.
It is estimated that more than £10,000,000 is invested in the motor industry in Australia.
