BROWN SHIELD

HOLDERS TO PLAY

MATCH WITH INTER-HOUSE

ASSOCIATION

Fresh from their triumph over Wanganui in the recent game for the Brown Shield, the Manawatu eleven will provide the, principal Soccer attraction in Wellington tomorrow in a return meeting with the Wellington Inter-house Association representatives. The game will be played on No. 2 ground at the Basin Reserve, and although no trophy will be at stake, a first-class exhibition of football is anticipated.

When the Inter-house men played at Palmerston North on the King's Birthday holiday they were too good for the Manawatu side, which they defeated by 6 goals to 3, but the latter showed considerable improvement in defeating Wanganui in the first game of the revived competition amone minor association? of the North Island for the Brown Shield. The team to play here tomorrow is substantially the same as that which outclassed Wanganui, and the Inter-house representatives will find s the holders of the shield rather more difficult opposition than they were on the King's Birthday. The contest will show the public the standard of football achieved by the Inter-house Association.

The Manawatu team will line out as follows: —W. Lyon; J. Broughton, G. Oman; P. Brougham, W. s Young, R, McSheffery (captain); R. Young, A. Young, W. Allan, G. Glaister, C. Hurcomb. Reserves: L. Searle and G.

Laing,

On the other ground at the Basin Reserve Waterside and Hospital will piay a first A division championship game, the result of which will be of vital importance to Waterside, as they need only one point to regain their championship lead from Petone. Hospital are in a midway position on the table, and will not be affected greatly by the result, whatever it is, but they are capable of extending even the best of teams, as Petone found when they were held to a draw by Hospital in their championship game.

The only other first A division game will be between Diamond and Marist at Kelburn Park.
