CARRIER'S LOST LEG
RAILWAYS HELD NEGLIGENT

In the case in which Walter Todd, carrier, of Picton, claimed ,£2OOO from the Railway Department for loss of a leg, the jury awarded the lull amount after a retirement cf. under half an hour.
The case was adjourned to enable counsel for the defendant to consider points of law involved.
The jury held that the Department's servants were negligent and absolved the plaintiff.
