DIFFICULT TIMES
DUKE'S HOPE OF SANE
COUNSELS
(Received July 6, noon.)
LONDON, July 5,
The Duke of Kent, speaking at a meeting of the general council of King George's Fund for Sailors, said: "The present times are most difficult, and we all hope and pray that sane counsels will prevail. The re-armament programme, combined with the large number of the younger generation who are joining the services may result in the older seafaring men returning to the sea."
