RUNAWAY BALLOON
POWER LINES FOULED
30 VILLAGES IN DARKNESS

LONDON, July 5
Thirty villages were plunged in darkness when the mooring wire of a runaway R.A.F. observation balloon which drifted 200 miles from Ramsey, in Huntingdonshire, fouled electricity cables in Yorkshire.
The balloon was last seen ever the North Sea.
